Privacy Policy

Who we are

Memoir (“we”, “us”) is a photo-album service operated from France. It lets you turn your photos into a printed album: you pick photos on your phone or in your browser, arrange them into pages yourself or let Memoir arrange them for you, and order a printed copy. This policy explains what data we collect to do that, how we use it, and the choices you have. For anything privacy-related, write to support@memoirprint.com.

Signing in with Google or Apple

Memoir has no passwords — you sign in with your Google or Apple account. When you do, we receive your name, email address, and a unique account identifier from the provider. We use these solely to create your Memoir account, sign you in, and contact you about your albums and orders.

That is the only data we request from your Google account. We do not access your Google contacts, Gmail, Drive, photos stored with Google, or anything else, and we never post to or modify your Google account. We do not sell Google user data or share it with third parties for advertising.

What we collect

• Your photos and albums. Photos you add to an album are uploaded to our cloud storage (along with smaller preview copies) so your drafts sync across devices and so we can print your book. Album layouts, titles, and captions are stored with them. Photos on your device that you don’t add to an album are never uploaded.
• Order details. When you buy a printed album, checkout is handled by our payment processor. We receive your order details and shipping address; we never see your full payment card number.
• AI usage and transactions. We keep a record of your automatic-arranging usage (arranging is free with a daily limit) and of any credits previously earned on your account.
• Usage data. We collect basic analytics (screens visited, features used, device type) to understand what works and fix what doesn’t. This includes session replays — reconstructions of how a screen was used — so we can find and fix confusing flows. Anything you type is masked in replays, and we mask your photos wherever technically possible. Analytics are hosted on servers in the European Union.
• Support messages. If you email us, we keep the correspondence so we can help you.

Automatic arranging

If you let Memoir arrange an album for you, the photos in that album are processed on our servers to choose an order and page layouts. They are used solely to produce your album’s arrangement — never for anything else, and never to train anyone’s models.

Who we share data with

We never sell your data, and we don’t share it with anyone for advertising. We share it only with the service providers we need to run Memoir:

• Our cloud hosting provider — hosts our servers, database, and photo storage.
• Our payment processor — handles checkout and payment for printed albums.
• Our print partner — receives the print-ready album file and your shipping address to print and deliver your book.
• Our analytics provider — product analytics and session replays (EU servers).
• Google and Apple — verify your identity when you sign in.

If you create a share link for an album, anyone with that link can view the album. You can stop sharing at any time by deleting the album, and links are not listed publicly or indexed by us.

Where your data lives

Your account, albums, and photos are stored with our cloud hosting provider in the United States. Where data leaves the European Union, the transfer is protected by recognized safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

• Your account, albums, and photos are kept while your account is active.
• When you delete an album, it first moves to “Recently deleted” for 30 days so you can change your mind; cloud copies of deleted or abandoned content are permanently removed after a grace period of about 45 days.
• Order records are kept as long as we’re legally required to for accounting and warranty purposes.

To delete your account and everything in it, email support@memoirprint.com from the address you signed up with.

Cookies

The web app uses a strictly necessary cookie to keep you signed in. Our analytics record page views and feature usage; we don’t use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.

Your rights

If you’re in the European Union, the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email support@memoirprint.com. You can also lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority — in France, the CNIL (cnil.fr).

Children

Memoir is not directed at children under 15, and we don’t knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we’ll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know in the app or by email before they take effect.
